Welcome to our Lifepro Fusion X review.
If you’ve ever read our blog before then you know we’ve been in the massage gun reviewing business for quite a while now. In that time we’ve come across a lot of great (and not so great) massage guns.
In this post, we will review the Sonic Fusion X, a device that brings some innovation to the table by combining the percussion therapy with the heat therapy.

Percussions Plus Heat – A Winning Formula?
Lifepro is a reputable brand, and was one of the first (if not the first) brands to introduce a heating element to a massage gun.
Lifepro is known for making excellent quality guns, outstanding customer support and offering a lifetime warranty for all of their products.
The Fusion X in particular features heated massage therapy. It comes with 5 interchangeable heads, one of which can be heated.
When you combine heat therapy with vibrational therapy, you’ve practically found a winning combination.
The Heating Element – Impressions
The Fusion X has a heated massage head that you can attach when you want to use the feature. We instantly fell in love with it, and it has become our favorite head since we bought the device.
It is capable of heating from 113 degrees Fahrenheit to 131 degrees Fahrenheit.
Heated massage comes with numerous benefits, such as improving the circulation of blood, the relaxation of stiff and store muscles, and relief from pain, anxiety, and stress.
If you have a problem where you get super stiff knots that are deeply set and won’t go away, then you can simply heat the head and hold it over the knot for at least a minute. The knot is assured to go away.
We love using this head on our most stubborn muscles for this reason.
This is quite similar to getting a hot stone massage, except you won’t spend the same ridiculous amounts of money every time to just visit a massage parlor.
The main downside to the heated feature is that it takes a full 10 minutes to heat up when the vibration is off. Now, 10 minutes isn’t an especially long time.
However, when you’re looking to massage your muscles after a long day, and you have to sit around and wait for 10 minutes for the massage gun to be ready, 10 minutes can feel awfully long. We do wish there was a way to make things happen faster.
The massage gun is also slightly more expensive that other massage guns in the same weight and performance category.
However, this isn’t such a large problem because you’re paying for the heating feature, which is more than worth the money, in our humble opinion. Also, with a Lifepro coupon (the “MGA10“, to be precise), you can get up to $20 off, which reduces the price.
Another slight downside is the fact that you can’t use the massage gun for more than 20 minutes at a time. After 20 minutes, you will have to give the massage gun about 10 minutes to cool down so it doesn’t overheat.
This is good for a typical massage session, but we feel that it would be great if we could use it non-stop for up to 45 minutes or more at a time. Sometimes you just need to spend more time on those stubborn knots!
The silver lining in all of this is that the heat stored in the attachment lasts a good amount of time. So once it is sufficiently hot, you can count on it to remain hot for a while, even after you switch to other massage modes.
Other Head Attachments
The heating attachment isn’t the only head that the Lifepro Fusion X comes with. It has 5 of them: the heating attachment plus 4 more.
- The heated head is flat, so that it can massage deeper and penetrate the muscles. It also provides a greater surface area for the heat to come into contact with the muscle.
- There is also a large and round head. This is a great head for gentle impact at an oblique angle, and is mostly used to fight muscle soreness and help with recovery. The round head is especially useful when you want to massage sensitive areas, bulk muscle groups, and just if you are a sensitive individual overall.
- There is another flat head, apart from the heated one. This one is especially useful for muscles that need more attention and problem areas on your body. It is excellent when you want to perform deep tissue massage.
- There is a U-shaped massage head that is meant specifically for your spine. This one works on stiff backs, loosening them up and making your spine more flexible. We especially love how it feels on the neck!
- Finally, there is the rather odd bullet shaped massage head. This one is the toughest massage head and is meant for the deepest knots and greatest problem areas. If you want to do extra deep tissue massage, then this is the head you go to. With this head, you no longer have to worry about deep pain and inaccessible knots anymore.
The massage heads could do with a bit more rubber, which would make them softer. This is the case with all Lifepro products, though, so that’s not a statement on this particular model.
The massage heads aren’t where performance ends. There are also different speeds that you can utilize, depending on your needs. These speeds help you pick a specific intensity for the trigger point or muscle group you want to work on.
- The first level is 1600 percussions per minute.
- The second level is 2000 percussions per minute.
- The third level is 2400 percussions per minute.
- The fourth level is 2800 levels per minute.
- The fifth level is 3200 levels per minute.
We’ve been using massage guns for quite a while now, so we would categorize ourselves as advanced practitioners.
However, even we don’t use the levels 3 through 5 that much. Most of our work is between levels 1 and 2.
This is because the higher levels are pretty intense and meant only for the most demanding of sessions.
Our advice is that you begin at level 1 and get a feel for it first. As you get used to it, you can slowly work your way up to the higher levels.
That said, no one is holding a (massage) gun to your head and forcing you to use the higher levels. Use the level that feels most comfortable for you particular use case.
If you never feel the need to use the higher levels, that’s okay. It’s good enough just to have them available in case you ever need them.
Stall Force & Stoke Length
Another factor to consider is the stall force and the stroke length (a.k.a. amplitude)
The Lifepro Fusion X comes with 30 lbs. of stall force. Now, while this doesn’t look particularly impressive, in case of this device, it’s more than enough for pain relief and deep tissue therapy. During our review, the massage gun definitely didn’t lack power.
In the recent weeks, we’ve reviewed a number of cheap devices that claimed to have more than 30 lbs and yet. the Fusion X felt stronger than most of those. It felt pretty powerful in fact, and the heat made it feel even better.
As for the amplitude, the head travels 10mm back and forth. We don’t mind it, though it does feel a little low. We wouldn’t mind 12mm at the least.
However, note that with a speed range of 1600 to 3200 percussions per minute, across 5 speed modes, 10mm of amplitude is pretty effective.
It gives a nice effect when pressed hard, despite not being the highest stall force.
Size, Weight and Ergonomics
This certainly isn’t the smallest massage gun out there. We give it a pass, though, because the heating element must take some extra space.
Besides, the oval shape makes it sleek looking and you almost don’t remember how large it actually is.
The ergonomics is also improved. The handle is slightly thinner than what we’ve seen in bulky guns, which is good.
With its rubber and textured grip, it’s more comfortable to hold over longer massage sessions. It has great grip and fits well in medium-sized hands.
All the buttons are intuitive to use. It has an on/off switch at the bottom of the handle and a heat and power button on the absolute butt.
The power button is especially handy, as it also allows you to cycle through all the different speeds, with LED lights telling you which particular speed setting you’re on.
The heat button lights up when you set the heat setting on too. The base of the handle also lights up when it needs to recharge.
Overall, this massage gun weighs 2.16 lbs. That’s just fine, considering its size. It’s much lighter than the popular Sonic X and LX from Lifepro, but not nearly as light as some of the others, such as the Dynaflex Mini and the Sonic Plus, also from Lifepro. Still, it’s very well-balanced.
We also love the case on this gun. It’s padded and zippered, and holds the device and its tips securely, making traveling with it an especially easy affair.
TIP: If you want to see the videos, more high-resolution images, or user photos, then check out the Lifepro website right here.
Noise and Power
This massage gun is rated as 60-70 dB. That’s a bit underwhelming on paper, as it looks loud.
The battery has a capacity of 2600 mAh. This is an improvement from many other massage guns we’ve reviewed. It definitely copes better with the extra consumption when heating.
The battery is also capable of running for a respectable 3-5 hours on a single charge, which is the same as non-heated guns.
Another big plus is that it’s a removable battery, which makes it easier to pack and replace with a new one.
The Sonic Fusion X has a retail price of $199.99. However, with the MGA10 coupon it comes at a 10% discount, which brings the price down to $179.99.
You should also note that the black colored version is cheaper at $179.99, which means it would cost $161.99 with the ‘MGA10‘ coupon. Also, all LifePro Fusion X come with a lifetime warranty!
Lifepro Fusion X vs. FX
That said, almost everything else, such as the battery, noise, stall force, amplitude, and weight are the same.
The two also have the same heating capability and range of 113-131 degrees Fahrenheit.
Apart from the shape there are two main differences.
- The FX has 3 pre-programmed modes: heated, continuous, and variable. This is in addition to the 5 speeds. The Fusion X does not have these modes.
- The FX is pricier, with the blue model costing $249.99 and the black model costing $229.99. However, you can get 10% off with the ‘MGA10‘ coupon, so the prices come down to $224.99 and $206.99 for the blue and black models respectively.

Our Verdict – Fusion X vs FX
Unless you really need those extra massage modes in the Fusion FX, opting for the Fusion X seems like the smarter move. You get almost entirely the same package for $45 less.
Otherwise, it’s pretty much the same experience.
Also, note that the black models are currently cheaper than the blue ones.

Heated Massage Gun – How Often To Use It?
The use of the LifePro Fusion X isn’t different than any other percussion massager, with only difference being the heating element, which only helps in recovering the muscles after the heavy workout.
Generally speaking, a massage gun is good for you, and we strongly think you should use it on the daily, whether you’re trying to undo those knots you developed at work or the ones you’ve accumulated as a professional athlete.
Whatever the case, using a massage fun daily can help you to build better physical and mental health, as well as to relieve yourself of tension and the stress that comes along with it.
With good massage therapy, you can improve the rehabilitation and performance of your muscles, as well as reduce inflammation and the risk of injury.
You can also increase lymphatic and blood flow and, ultimately, activate the nervous system.
Lifepro Fusion X Review – Bottom Line
And with that we come to the end of our Lifepro Fusion X review. What impressed us the most was how innovative Lifepro was with introducing heated guns.
If you concentrate hard enough, you can almost literally feel all that tension and pain dissolve away as you massage your muscles when using this gun.
Also, despite being an entry-level massage gun, the Fusion X is surprisingly powerful, and just as versatile as a non-heated gun. If you want to experience something new with the heated capabilities, the Fusion X is a good buy.
Until next time, happy massaging!
Lifepro Fusion X Rating
Lifepro Fusion X is an innovative, slick-looking, versatile massage gun. While not the strongest one on paper, it’s powerful enough as a regular massage gun. However, what makes it stand out from all the rest is the heated massage capabilities – and here, we honestly can’t praise the merits of this gun enough. It feels like magic on stiff and sore muscles!
